"Jip-sy"

Films: Thinner (1996)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: "Gypsie" is a complicated term. It is often used to describe a person accused of witchcraft, or simply someone deserving of scorn. But really, let's not toss it around too much. Unless "vengeful practitioner of dark magic" is too wordy for you.

History: Tadzu Lempke was in a bind. His beloved daughter had just been irresponsibly run over by the overweight Billy Halleck, and everyone at court didn't seem to care one bit. Outraged at this injustice, Tadzu curses three of the people who defended Billy, including the fat guy himself. One gets "lizard" and grows hideous scales, another gets "leper" and becomes so deformed he kills himself, and Billy gets the worst of them all. Specifically, "thinner", which means that Billy's going to be gradually losing weight until he dies of malnutrition.

Notable Kills: The Leper curse is enough talk for you.

Final Fate: After Billy makes such a ruckus amongst the gypsy community in a desperate attempt to lift the curse, Tadzu gives and decides to make him a pie imbued with Billy's blood that will kill the next person who eats it and lift the curse. Billy's cheating wife eats it, and the curse is lifted. Some pie remains though, and Billy decides to give it to another enemy of his...

Powers/Abilities: Can curse people based on their vices.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-We'll give Tadzu this. No one deserves to have their family killed by a total idiotic slimeball. But damn, those curses are horrifying! Karma's a b*tch, and Tadzu knows it...

Trivia: -The ending of the original Stephen King story had Billy eat the pie in despair after his daughter accidentally ate some. Director Tom Holland wasn't satisfied with what the focus group changed it into at all.

-It took four to six hours for the effects team to help actor Robert John Burke look like whatever stage he was during his thinning.

More like "invert" the crime.

Reminders that these folks never intended for TOO much damage to occur.
Keep your wits about. This meat is probably more than tainted.

I don't want to call you a leper, but...
And beleive me, you won't want to see it play out for long.

Not a good look for you. Sorry.
Nutrisystem? I'm sorry.

When pain is all you know, you can always go mad.
